U-46 Planetarium Program 2023-24 Check back in September 2024 for updated information
Each lesson at the U-46 Planetarium consists of some history of the building and content coverage through a PowerPoint presentation or a full dome video. These full dome video titles are listed in the program outline below in italics. Of course, a tour of the current nighttime sky is always presented. Lessons in the planetarium are 50-60 minutes long and are usually scheduled back to back during the day for U-46 students. They are free of charge and transportation is arranged for teachers.
Due to high demand and limited seating, lessons at the Planetarium are for schools/classrooms within the U-46 attendance area.
The content is currently aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and integrates the Common Core State Standards. The U-46 Planetarium is and has always been a great place to spark interest in space science, gain knowledge in all areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and learn under a dome that realistically mimics the sky and the movements that we can observe from here on Earth.
