Extended Learning Opportunities

  • Co-Curricular Student Organizations, such as DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America)HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), Skills USA-VICA and FCCLA (Family Careers & Community Leaders of America) provide students extended learning resources. These organizations offer competitive opportunities for educational scholarships, workplace skills performance and leadership roles within local, regional and national organizations.

    Job Shadowing, arranged through the Career Specialists, provides an opportunity for students to observe specific job responsibilities and skills at local businesses.

    Career Fairs, facilitated by Career Specialists, encourages students to meet and talk with professionals in Health Care, Engineering, Transportation/Logistics and Manufacturing.

    Work Experiences/Internships provide opportunities for students to experience specific career responsibilities related to Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Hospitality/Culinary, and Catering, Business/Retail, Health Care and Manufacturing/Engineering. Talk to your Counselor about U-46 paid and/or unpaid work experiences.
