  • How are mentors and mentees matched?

    Posted by:

Mentors and mentees are matched by the TMP Oversight Committee.  First, requests by the new teachers are honored.  If a mentor has not been requested, the matching process is guided by an incredible mentor matching process that identifies mentors that are in the same building, grade level and/or department.  The TMP Oversight Committee makes match requests based on a variety of factors.  When a mentor accepts a match request, the formal match letter is sent to both mentor and mentee with information regarding the official TMP match.

  • How often will the mentor and mentee (new educator) meet?

    Posted by:

Mentors and mentees should be meeting frequently to support the learning process.  Mentors and mentees will meet and talk about relevant issues and topics as they relate to student learning and the mentee's work.

**Starting in the 24-25 school year, mentors and mentees will have monthly checklists with required topics to guide their work together. Mentors and mentees will observe each other to provide feedback, share insights and resources, and set goals once per semester.

  • Will the mentor be in the same school?

All efforts are made for an in-building match and/or in-department match. The TMP Oversight Committee works hard to recruit and retain mentors to support new certified staff members.
