The Bloom Academy at School District U-46
Bloom Academy serves U-46 students in grades K-8. Students attend the program for up to 60 days, and have access to academic learning, positive behavioral support, and daily social-emotional learning. These small classrooms offer individualized education, with the goal for all students to return to their regularly assigned schools and classrooms.
Bloom Academy serves students with significant social and emotional needs, and provides daily positive behavioral management and support. Our school is designed to help students develop expected school behaviors, and our results show increased student engagement, revised behavior support plans, and better insights into students' academic skills and needs. The students who are identified for short-term placement at Bloom Academy are recommended by the U-46 School Safety team.
The team at Bloom Academy is comprised of licensed general education teachers, a licensed special education teacher, a licensed school social worker, and English and Spanish-speaking staff members. Our program works closely with the District staff, including a nurse, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, counselors, and ELL teachers.
