News & Communications

  • In a school district of more than 37,000 students and some 4,500 staff members, there is always plenty of news and many accomplishments to highlight. The Communications & Community Relations Department aims to keep families updated on District news via our website, District Facebook page, Instagram page, through mass notification calls, emails, and texts, our School District U-46 app, as well as a monthly bilingual e-newsletter. Information on FOIA Requests can be found here.

Our News & Communications section features press releases, local news articles that highlight our students and staff, e-newsletters for parents and U-46 employees, presentations made to the U-46 Board of Education, our student-produced WEPS 88.9 FM radio station, and U-46 videos housed on our Youtube channel.

School District U-46 serves families in 11 communities; Bartlett, Elgin, Hanover Park, South Elgin, Streamwood, Wayne, and portions of Carol Stream, Hoffman Estates, St. Charles, Schaumburg, and West Chicago.

We welcome information about events and issues as well as feedback about our communications efforts. Please submit your questions, comments, and feedback via Let's Talk!
