Mrs. Tanya Wilson Assistant Principal

-
It is my pleasure to serve the Lords Park school community as the Assistant Principal. Although this is my favorite position in all my years in education, I also enjoyed being a 6th, 7th and 8th grade science teacher, a 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classroom teacher, a literacy coach, and a reading specialist.
I attended Western Illinois University for my undergraduate degree in science. I have a master’s degree in curriculum & instruction and reading from Northeastern Illinois University, and a master's degree in educational leadership from National Louis University.
Over the course of my rewarding career, I have led professional development to strengthen classroom instruction, supported school improvement plan teams and MTSS teams to increase student learning and promote a safe and positive school culture. I strive to ensure that the needs of all of our learners are met so they continue to grow in their academic and social emotional learning.
Our district is focused on standards-based instruction in the core subject areas and interdependent student learning. I believe these goals empower students to be leaders in their own learning, which is a skill that will serve them throughout their lives. As a U-46 alum, I feel fortunate to share my love for learning with students who are growing up in the same area that I grew up in.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching TV, and spending time with my husband and two sons.
I welcome your partnership with Lords Park school to support your student’s learning. I can be reached at Tanyawilson@u-46.org or by phone at 847 888-5360.
