Community Activity Complex

  • To date, the project has already made progress. In 2008, the Bartlett Activity Complex Committee was established. Since that time, the committee has taken careful steps to assemble a membership that reflects the diverse population to benefit from the activity complex. The committee is comprised of General Booster Members, future parents of BHS students, community members at-large and members of various youth leagues.

The committee, while gathering community support and starting to research the project, urged Bartlett High School administration to begin to work with School District U-46 administration concerning this project. In 2011, initial planning conversations were had between administrative groups and the project was approved for next steps.

The next steps included completion of a Field Feasibility Study. The study was essential to determine whether the current plot of land could support shifting the existing track southwesterly, constructing a synthetic turf athletic field with the new track, adding bleachers on each side, adding concessions/ticketing/washrooms at the northwest plot and adding long jump at the southwest plot. The study concluded this project would be feasible.

Next, preliminary drawings were completed to provide the vision for the project. Several of these drawings are included on other pages in this section and provide views of the entrance, an aerial entrance/concession view and a view of the activity complex. Of course, these are renderings and the final complex may vary based upon fundraising and aesthetics.
