August 2024
Dear Ronald D. O’ Neal Community,
It is with great privilege and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the Principal of Ronald D. O’Neal Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school community with such amazing students, a dedicated staff, and a supportive school community.
I have been dedicated to the education field for more than twenty years, twelve in School District U-46. I was a Special Education Teacher at Harriet Gifford Elementary for seven years. I served as the Assistant Principal at Laurel Hill Elementary School from 2019-2022, and this is my third year as the proud Principal of Ronald D. O’Neal.
My greatest achievement comes not professionally but personally as I am the mother of two beautiful children, Sam (20) and Dominick (17). I have been married for over twenty-five years. We are a close family that enjoys traveling and spending time together. I pride myself in treating all my students as if they were my own. I will work tirelessly to ensure that all our students will have the best possible experiences at Ronald D. O’Neal.
I believe that every student deserves an equitable learning environment with rigorous standards-based instruction to develop twenty-first century skills. In addition, students need to be supported with the development of social emotional skills to become emotionally intelligent productive citizens. Lastly, I believe that every student deserves to leave school each day with greater opportunities than they had the day before.
In closing, please know that my door is always open to you. I wholeheartedly welcome your conversation and positive input throughout the school year. Let us always keep our children the primary focus of our work. I look forward to celebrating our collective successes this school year.
Sincerely,
Deanna Micaletti
