Dual Language

  • We offer two types of Dual Language classes to our students. Native Spanish speakers in grades K-6

who are eligible to receive ELL services participate in our One-Way program. Two-Way Dual Language is offered to students in kindergarten and first grade where half the class is made up of native English speakers and half the class is made up of native Spanish speakers. These students work together as they learn each others' languages and become bilingual, biliterate and bicultural.

Dual language is a form of bilingual education in which students are taught literacy and content in two languages.

Dual language programs foster bilingualism, bi-literacy, enhanced awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity, and high levels of academic achievement through instruction in two languages.
