Art Rotation
In the art rotation students will learn about communicating through visual means. An important part of the art curriculum is effort, learning to problem solve, and how to create artwork using the art process steps. A variety of media will be used to create art that can be successful at all ability levels. Specific areas of study are based on emphasis, unity, creating the illusion of space, and developing a theme. Students will also learn about how the visual arts function in society, cultures both past and present, and also how they integrate into other subject areas.

Family and Consumer Science Rotation
FACS teaches the basic concepts of good nutrition, reading nutritional labels, kitchen safety and food safety to prevent illnesses. Emphasis is still on “real life” experiences. Not only do we prepare a food item, we often “cost out” the ingredients and analyze the recipe. Throughout a lab, emphasis is on working as a team, responsibility, cooperation, and staying on task. In addition to foods labs, emphasis is on career exploration. All students use a web-based program, Career Cruising, to take a variety of assessments to find their interests and skills within the various career clusters. FACS provides opportunities for problem solving, critical thinking, and hands-on experiences with foods and career exploration.

Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Rotation
In PLTW, students are exposed to a variety of topics that range from engineering to automation and robotics. Students will work together in small groups to complete the design and modeling process of a product. This nine week course challenges students to use critical thinking skills to develop solutions and or innovations to everyday problems and products.
