U-46 Newcomers Summer School: Bridging Cultures and Academics

This program is designed to support School District U-46 students currently in grades kindergarten through 5th who are new to the United States. They will be offered language development, cultural orientation, and academic preparation to help them smoothly transition into the next school year. Transportation is available to students who meet the requirements and who sign-up before April 22.
The Newcomers Summer School will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday starting June 5 through July 3, 2024. (No classes on Wednesday, June 19.) This program will be available at Channing and Laurel Hill Elementary Schools. Participants will attend one of those schools based on their home address. Breakfast will be provided.
